On the 4th of July, our outside broadcast facilities were commissioned by PBS Malta to provide live coverage of the special ceremonies held in Kercem to commemorate Madre Margerita De Brincat, founder of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus who was recently decreed venerable by His Holiness Pope Francis. The two hour long live broadcast in High Definition included a concelebrated mass led by H.E. Mgr Mario Grech bishop of Gozo and H.E. Mgr Charles Scicluna, Malta`s auxiliary bishop and attended by a huge congregation led by H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, president of Malta and Dr Anton Refalo LL.D, Gozo`s minister. A big thank you from CVC Broadcast to PBS’s technical staff present in Kercem and in the main studios in Malta, as well as the parish of Kercem, led by parish priest Can. Brian Mejlak.

CVC has lost a great friend and broadcaster…Teddie Borg, the sports journalist who excelled in the coverage of yachting and sea based sports. For several years, our media house was Teddie`s second home. Here, Teddie and James Scicluna edited countless editions of Starboard – all screened on TVM. On several occasions, CVC media crews accompanied him on overseas assignments and provided the filming logistics so that Teddie could produce special programmes in other countries.  The twenty or so youth Zmeraldi team surely remember the unforgettable blissful days spent in Cyprus with Teddie and Roselle when he was our guide and master of ceremonies for a tour during which fun was the order of the day! Our sincere condolences go to Roselle and the family. Until we meet again…

CVC Media carry off for yet another year the much covered cultural journalism award with features that screened in Għawdex Illum and Malta u lil Hinn Minnha. CVC Media placed an honorable second in the environmental, travel journalism, and best broadcast film categories. This award, number 31, gives credit to our dedicated team.

For yet another year, CVC Media makes its presence felt in the annual journalism awards organised by the Institute of Maltese Journalists. Its flagship television programmes are finalists in four categories: the cultural, environmental, travel and best film sections. In its 25 year history, cvc media has amassed no less than thirty prestigious national awards.

An intensive short visit to the UK to familiarize ourselves with the new 4k formats on show at BVE 2014. Cvc Media plans to upgrade its broadcast HD platform in the near future so as to continue providing this cutting edge technology to its clients.
