The series, filmed on location in Guatemala in 1998, comprises six thirty minute documentary programmes covering various aspects of the history, natural beauty and contemporary life in this central American country.

The series was filmed on the initiative of two Gozitan priests who are doing social work in remote parishes in Southern Guatemala.

Inguat, the Guatemalan tourist organisation, was instrumental in the production of this series as they provided the logistics and guides throughout the team`s stay in Guatemala.

Cameraman Alvin Scicluna was also the series producer and director. In this assignment, he was aided by Anthony Buttigieg, John Magro, Joseph F Scicluna and Carmel Camilleri. The six programmes were presented in the Maltese language on TVM, Malta`s national television station in 1999. The series was also nominated by the Malta Broadcasting Authority as one of the top locally produced documentaries in 1999. English translation is available.
