The Assumption of Our
Lady is feted in style in the island of Gozo. This mid-August feast
draws huge crowds to the island and the feast in itself, organized
by the Gozo Cathedral Parish and the Leone Philharmonic Society
of Victoria, has socio-religious aspects.
The 1997 feast was a
special one and this 180 minute documentary covers the religious
and the profane. It also features the spectacular ground and aerial
fireworks, band marches and the traditional agricultural show held
in the Rundle Gardens of Victoria.
The script and commentary
are by Frankie Bajada, one of the regular co-ordinators and presenters
in Citadel Video Communications productions.
