The Gozo Stone Balconies

All visitors to Gozo remain impressed with the beauty and style in which Gozitan houses are built. An important feature of the house is the stone balcony. The style has developed over the years and often, an elaborate work of art is displayed. The delicate carvings in local limestone offer clues as to when particular balconies were built. In the reign of the Knights of Malta, stone balconies were decorated with particular details found in the grandmaster`s coat of arms.
