In 1997, Citadel Video Communications produced a six programme series about Moscow. The documentaries feature the history, religion, architecture, traditional crafts and everyday life in the capital city of The Federation of Russian States at a time when Moscow was celebrating its 850th anniversary. Historic towns like Sergei Posad, Vladimir and Suzdal - all found in the circle of defensive cities that surround Moscow, feature extensively.

Filming was carried out both in winter - often in sub zero temperatures, and in late spring.

The documentaries were produced on the initiative of the Russian Centre for Arts, Culture and Science in Malta. The documentaries, now available in twoVHS cassettes include extensive footage filmed in public areas, parks, belvederes, museums, palaces and churches and should make the prospective tourist familiar with the landmarks that characterise Moscow.
