Ghawdex Illum Awards

CVC MEDIA was officially set up in 1993 by which time TVM`s regional programme Ghawdex Illum had already firmly established itself as the leading regional weekly TV programme from Gozo. To date, Alvin Scicluna and his hard working team have been honoured with no less than thirty one national awards in broadcasting. Ghawdex illum, Malta`s longest ongoing production (nonstop since October 1988) has captured nineteen awards spread over a very wide spectrum of the Maltese television story.

Since 1995, Ghawdex Illum was repeatedly chosen as Malta`s best magazine TV programme, best cultural TV programme and best journalism in the cultural field, the best programme in theĀ  broadcast film category and in the broadcast script category, overall winner in the overseas travel section and the best journalistic effort in a foreign country, as well as the leadingĀ  Maltese journalism company to make best use of the Maltese language.

Audiovisual

CVC Productions is the audio visual department of CVC Media. The company owns top end broadcast equipment which puts it at the very top of locally produced television programmes. Apart from award winning television programmes, this equipment and unparallaled human resources can also deliver high-end productions for social occasions such as weddings, concerts, company profiles

and adverts. CVC`s broadcast quality cameras and latest technology in non-linear editing systems include the top end 6K formats. The company has regularly produced corporate productions for well known companies like Magro Group, DOI Malta, Malta International Airport, Malta Government, Abrahams, ERA, Planning Authority, VisitGozo, Malta Tourism Authority, Savina, KDM Group, GlobeGround, G4S, and the FXB Group.

Honours

The State also recognized the professionalism of CVC when company founder Alvin Scicluna was bestowed in December 2010 with the MQR (Midalja ghall-Qadi tar-Repubblika) by the president of Malta HE Dr George Abela for the distinguished service he has given to Malta, especially his native Gozo in the field of broadcasting. In June 2011, Alvin Scicluna was also honoured with Gieh il-belt Victoria in recognition for the work

and services rendered in broadcasting both nationally and internationally. He thus joins a list of citizens of Victoria who have, in the course of the past years, been honoured for the services rendered to their native town and country. In December 2013, Alvin Scicluna was also bestowed with the Gieh Ghawdex award, an initiative undertaken by the Circolo Gozitano.
